I’ve been in the finance and banking industry for 12 years, my wife a co-founder of the company – Simone O’Loughlin has over 8 years experience. That means collectively we have over 20 years worth of experience within the industry, something we’re very proud of and feel like we’ve taken the time to learn the ins and outs to make the process of going for a home loan an enjoyable one.
The thought of starting a mortgage broking business appealed to us because we thought that there was a true gap within the market – it was hard to obtain information and there is so much to take on that reading it can often leave you with more questions than answers. So we wanted to certainly be a lot more digital with our approach, put information out through our social platforms that people could easily access us and ask questions.
It could be something as simple as how does redraw work, what is an offset account, what’s the difference between fixed and variable or how much deposit do I need in order to buy a home? The whole point is that we ultimately want a way of educating people in a way that is simple and that allows them to make the educated decisions to reach their financial goals.
Lastly a question we get so often is around the name ‘Arch Brokerage’ how did we come up with it? What’s the inspiration? When we were going through the process of starting the business we knew from experience that often people will use their initials and put finance on the end of it but that really wasn’t for us – nothing against anyone that does that at all but it just wasn’t what resonated with us. We wanted something that reflected who we were and what we wanted to stand for. Enter our little boy (Eldest dog, yes we’re massive dog people) Archie. He’s an Italian Greyhound, we’ve had him coming up to 5 years but funnily enough everything we seemed to do in our life he’s always been at the cornerstone of our decision – Moving from a unit to a house, selling our first house to get a second house with more yard.
Long story short (Or perhaps long story long), our business is much like a dog. We’re loyal, we have unconditional love for our clients and we will be there for them at all times.
